After that, you will not be able to view the content again unless the user submits it again.

Therefore, it is not possible to save, favorite, forward or share the received media.

However, it does not have a print warning, so the person can print the image without you knowing.

The function temporary media file was made available with a button with the number “1”.

This option, which means “view once” is responsible for activating the feature.

You can preview it in the caption bar when a media is uploaded.

This feature works with both gallery files and those captured by WhatsApp camera.

To activate the option, simply click on the Timer icon after selecting the desired media.

This function is not enabled by default in the app.

You will need to activate the feature whenever you want to send an image that self-destructs.

Also, the recipient must have read receipt enabled. 

That way, the sender will know that the media has been opened.

On the other hand, if the media has not been viewed within 14 days, it will be unavailable in the conversation.

How to send temporary messages?

First, open WhatsApp on your smartphone, whether Android or iOS (iPhone).
